On December 7, 2018, at 11:40, the bells in the Armenian churches all over the world were ringing reminding the world about the earthquake in Spitak, Armenia, in 1988. This year at the 30th anniversary of the deadly day and every year at this day people lights candles and pray for the peace of souls of innocent victims. The commemoration in the churches of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia also started with 30 rings of church's bells. In the churches spiritual fathers offered Requiem Service with the participation of deacons. The Requiem Service offered in Saint Etchmiadzin church was attended by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Armenia to Georgia Ruben Sadoyan, Embassy diplomats and personnel. Georgian Parliamentarians Davit Chichinadze and Ruslan Poghosyan, poet and translator Givi Shahnazar, artistic director of Petros Adamyan Tbilisi State Armenian Drama Theatre Armen Bayanduryan, editor of "Vrastan" ("Georgia") newsletter Van Bayburdyan, Tbilisi Armenian intellectuals, representatives of public, numerous faithful. Pastor of the church Rev. Father Samvel Torosyan touched upon the destructive natural disaster which Armenian people suffered, appreciated the first aid by Georgia and Georgian people, as well as the comprehensive aid from numerous countries and peoples all over the world as a result of which the Armenian people found strength to awake from deadly shock and stand in their feet, to build ruined cities and villages and every year to pray for the peace of souls of innocent victims. For thirty years the Armenian Church prays for the peace of souls of its innocent victims offering Requiem Service. At the conclusion of the church service, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Armenia to Georgia Ruben Sadoyan delivered speech and wished that no people in any part of the world would suffer such tragedy. Referring to the deadly day of the earthquake, Georgian Member of Parliament Davit Chichinadze appreciated the invincibility of Armenian nation the strength for resistance against pain and rise again. After the Requiem Service a documentary film about disasters of earthquake was screened.
