On November 20, 2018, at the "Biltmore" hotel in Tbilisi, the State Agency for Religious Issues held a presentation of the map of various religious buildings operating in Georgia. The presentation was attended by representatives of religious organizations in Georgia, Georgian authorities, international organizations and diplomatic corps. The Primate of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia, His Grace Bishop Vazgen Mirzakhanyan was in attendance, accompanied by Assistant to the Primate for Legal Affairs and Cooperation Michael Avagyan. Chairman of the State Agency for Religious Issues Zaza Vashakhmadze presented a map of the religious buildings in Georgia, where the number of operating buildings and the percentage of religious communities at the level of Tbilisi and nearby regions and municipalities were presented, as well as data on numerous religious denominations in Georgia. The new map will give an opportunity to the state, all stakeholders and religious organizations to plan and implement their own activities based on the religious part of Georgian population. The attendees highly appreciated the map drawn by the State Agency for Religious Issues and emphasized that this institution once again reaffirmed that Georgia is a country with great tradition of tolerance, highlighted the contemporary policy towards religions. The map is a result of serious and long-lasting work, and it will provide significant assistance to both the citizens of the country and the tourists.
