On November 11, 2018, at the end of the Sunday Divine Liturgy, spiritual fathers presided over the Requiem Service offered at the churches of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia, with the participation of clergymen and deacons, in commemoration of the legendary athlete, former Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia to Georgia Yuri Vardanyan and for the peace of souls of four soldiers of the Armenian Army who were killed in a car accident. At the conclusion of the Divine Liturgy, at the Cathedral of Saint George, the Primate of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia, His Grace Bishop Vazgen Mirzakhanyan expressed his condolences on the occasion of the death of Armenian soldiers and the worthy son of the Armenian nation Yuri Vardanyan, encouraged their parents and relatives and urged the faithful to pray together for the peace of the souls of Armenian nation's sons. The Diocesan Primate presided over the Requiem Service. The attendees lit candles and prayed for the peace of the souls of deceased.
