A1On February 11, 2018, the Eve of Great Lent, the Pontifical Encyclical of His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians, was read during the Divine Liturgy in the churches of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia, on the occasion of 100th anniversary of the First Republic of Armenia, the 100th anniversary of the heroic Battles of May.

Following the sermon of the clergy on the mystery of the day, under the "Etchmiadzin I Hore" hymn and the ringing of the bells, the Encyclical of His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians, was brought on the Altar. The Pontifical Encyclical was read by the priests.

At the Cathedral of Saint George in Tbilisi, following the Divine Liturgy, the Primate of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia, His Grace Bishop Vazgen Mirzakhanyan; reflected on the First Republic of Armenia and the heroic Battles of May. The Diocesan Primate presented the services of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin and the clergymen on the occasion of Armenian’s victories in May. Bishop Vazgen presented the upcoming events of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia this year, which are devoted to the reinstatement of Armenian statehood and the victories in May. In his remarks, the Primate of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia also emphasized that through the victories in May Georgia also regained independence and two Christian neighboring countries, hand-in-hand, shaped Armenia and Georgia.
