Representatives of the Municipal Authorities Visit the St. Gregory of Narek Center PDF Print E-mail

On October 15, 2017, Gocha Shavadze, Deputy Chairman of the Rustavi Municipal Council visited the St. Gregory of Narek Educational, Cultural, Youth and Spiritual Center in Rustavi (Armenian Diocese in Georgia). Rev. Father Narek Ghushyan, Pastor of the local Armenian community, welcomed the high-ranking officials.

Father Narek greeted the guests, revealed the main objective of the newly opened Center, activity directions and upcoming programs. He talked about the goals and benchmarks of the Armenian community to live by Christian faith, to know the mother tongue very well, preserve national culture and traditions, according to which the center conducts its activities. Father Narek highlighted the cordiality of the Georgian authorities towards the other ethnic groups in Georgia, their attention to the preservation of the national identity, and the opportunity given to the local Armenians to preserve their spiritual and cultural values.

The guest viewed Gary Nalbandyan’s personal exhibition at the St. Gregory of Narek Center. Later the relatively recently formed Nemrut Dance Group, led by choreographer Stella Selepanova, greeted Gocha Shavadze with Armenian and Georgian dances.

The former Deputy Chairman of the Rustavi Municipal Council stated his appreciation of productive activity of the St. Gregory of Narek Center, appreciated those projects, which are outlined in the life of the Center, discussed perspectives of cooperation, as well as promised to include national dances, songs and art into a concert program held in Rustavi.

The high-ranking official of Rustavi Municipal Council left the Center with great impressions and satisfied with the activities of the Center.
