Today is Mher Mkrtchyan’s birthday.

On July 4, 2017, a great film and stage actor, famous comedy actor, People’s Artist of the USSR would turn 87 today.

Monument to the Heroes of the Film Mimino by Soviet director Georgiy Daneliya featuring statues of key characters, including Mher Mkrtchyan, is located in Tbilisi’s Avlabari neighborhood.

The officials of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia, the teachers and students of the creative groups of the Hayartun Center laid wreath at the monument to commemorate the actor’s birthday.

The religious servant of the Saint Etchmiadzin Church in Tbilisi, Rev. Father Manuk Zeynalyan conducted the repose of the soul service and gave a memorial speech, honoring the beloved actor.

The famous Armenian comedy actor is no longer alive, but he left many roles he had played in films and theatres. Everyone still admires the roles Mher Mkrtchyan played. A memory of him is alive in the hearts of people.
