On June 6, 2015, pilgrims from Tbilisi, Ninotsminda and Akhalkalaki arrived in Akhaltsikhe on the occasion of the Feast of St. Gregory the Illuminator (Deliverance from the Pit). Hieromonk Ter Hakob Sahakyan delivered the Liturgy in the Church of Saint Gregory the Illuminator. The Prelate of Samtskhe-Javakheti and Tsalka's General Prelacy, Archimandrite Babgen Salbiyan read a sermon and gave a silver cross to the church. The Primate of the Armenian Diocese, His Grace Bishop Vazgen Mirzakhanyan gave a speech and consecrated the cross. The pilgrims were accompanied by the Rev. Fr. Ter Armash Poghosyan (Ninotsminda), Rev. Fr. Ter Tatev Maroukian (Akhalkalaki) and Deacon Gevorg Antonyan (Tbilisi). They visited the sightseeing places of Akhaltsikhe and participated in the “Meal of Love” (Agape) organized by the clergy.

The Primate and the Vice-Primate held a consultative meeting with the local fathers. They also met with the members of the Board of Trustees of the Saint Gregory the Illuminator Church and discussed the reconstruction of the church, and organizational and other issues.

The day before, on June 5, His Grace and Deacon, Babgen Salbiyan attended the concert with the participation of famous performers from Tbilisi.
