The reconstruction of the Educational, Cultural and Youth Center in Batumi named after Alexander Mantashev will start on July 1, 2015 .

The Center acquired in 2015 with the support of the RA Government will be remodeled thanks to the funds allocated by the Jinishian Memorial Foundation. Rev. Father Ter Ararat Gumbalyan from Batumi’s Saint Savior Church will monitor the process.

With that in mind, the Primate of the Armenian Diocese, His Grace Bishop Vazgen Mirzakhanyan and the Director of the Administrative and Economic Department of the Diocese, Karen Yeritsyan, paid a 3-day working visit to Batumi, where they discussed the terms and the scope of work to be undertaken. As part of the visit they met with the head of the center, Sona Hovhannisyan, who informed the guests that the Center will include a preschool, and Saturday and Sunday Armenian schools. Classes in dance, choir, and aesthetics will also be offered. The newly renovated Center will also have a social service and youth department .

The Primate thanked Rev. Fr. Ter Ararat Gumbalyan and other committed representatives of the community for their dedication.

His Grace also met with the RA Consul in Batumi, Aram Manukyan and discussed some issues regarding the joint activities of the center, the clergy and the consulate.
