On November 8, 2014 a literature and creative evening, devoted to the favorite actor and writer Gevorg Hovakimyan, took place at Harry Davtyan Puppet Culture House in Tbilisi. The Armenian avant-garde artists, who visited Tbilisi within the framework of the exhibition “Artisterium 7/2014” at Karvasla to represent Armenia together with 15 other countries, took their seats alongside with the puppets. Guests from Lithuania also attended the event.

The head of the Puppet Culture Center Mrs. Zhanna Davtyan greeted the participants and introduced the speaker of the day. Later Gevorg Hovakimyan, who is popular among Tbilisi audience thanks to the various roles he acted on the stage of Petros Adamyan theatre, appeared with all his emotions of a writer. He read his narrative “The Pickpocket”. It is a psychological dialogue of an embryo still in mother’s uterus. The main purpose of the narrative is stop abortion, to prevent from murdering the growing embryo, which was expressed with the dialogue of a uterus embryo in contact with the outside world.

Writer and translator Guivi Shahnazar, the President of Armenian Painters’ Union in Georgia Meruzhan Shahumyan, the editor of the newspaper “Georgia” Van Bayburtyan, a member of the board of trustees at the Diocese Samvel Aghekyan highlighted the artistic works of the writer, valued Gevorg Hovakimyan not only as a famous actor, but also as a modern creator of psychological genre. It was emblematic that the appealing dialogue of the unborn children took place in the atmosphere of puppets created by the late master Harry. These puppets had unconsciously become the “audience” of the literary work.

At the end the Primate of the Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Holy Church in Georgia, His Grace Bishop Vazgen Mirzakhanyan blessed the participants and expressed his appreciation.

The participants suggested turning the literary work into a scenario and shooting a short film, which would be a call to the Armenian people to solve the demographic problem of the Armenians.
