On October 20, 2014 the President of Georgia Girogi Margvelashvili had a meeting with leaders of religious communities. The Primate of the Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Holy Church in Georgia.

His Grace Bishop Vazgen Mirzakhanyan was also attending the meeting. The subject of the meeting was the violence against women, which has recently become so frequent, and the prevention of such phenomena. The Head of the country listened to the opinion of spiritual leaders on how to regulate the problem.

First, it is necessary to embrace a priest in judicial processes, examining family matters,
Second, with the support of the government, church should be granted an opportunity to have enough priests, who, according to church tradition, would be parish priests and the friend of the family. Being a trustworthy person for the family, they would contribute to the strength of the family. Such cases can be encountered in Armenian communities functioning in the East.
Third, the clergy should have an opportunity to work with high graders at school, and spiritually educate them together with the school,
Fourth, more of the positive and the kind should be shown on TV. The Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia, His Holiness, Ilia II made the same call weeks ago.
The President of Georgia Mr. Margvelashvili accepted the offers made both by the Primate of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia and the leaders of the other religious communities. The President ordered the Advisor on the Affairs of National Minorities Sofio Shamanidi to summarize all the offers and introduce to him.
Highlighting the importance of the cooperation between the government and the spiritual communities in solving the problems of the society, the President offered to make such meetings continuous.
