The requiem in the pantheon of “The most renowned people” in Khojivank commemorating Sargis Darchinyan’s death anniversary PDF Print E-mail

On October 2 of the current year was commemorated as Sargis (Sergo) Darchinyan’s first death anniversary. He was a distinguished Archivist, a famous architect in Tbilisi, researcher of Armenian monuments in Georgia and a great connoisseur. The representatives of the Armenian community in Tbilisi together with Sargis Darchinyan’s relatives and the representatives of the Armenian Embassy in Georgia, accompanied by clergymen of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia visited the pantheon of Armenian writers and public figures in Tbilisi, Khojivank pantheon, where Sargis Darchinyan’s body is buried. Headed by the Primate of the Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church in Georgia, His Grace Bishop St. Vazgen Mirzakhanyan, requiem was performed for the peace of his soul. Sargis Darchinyan’s tomb was again covered with flowers and there was again the aroma of incense.

After the ritual the Primate blessed those who gathered around Sargis Darchinyan’s grave and highlighted the activities of a person who devoted 40 years of his conscious life to the exploration of Armenian track in Georgia, and especially in Tbilisi. Bishop Vazgen noted that Sargis Darchinyan had created a variety of scientifically grounded archives full of facts and proved with photos. Now it is already a year that Sargis Darchinyan’s tomb has found its place among the renowned people of the nation.

Bowing to Sargis Darchinyan’s memory, the poet, translator Anahit Botanjyan underlined the modesty of the unique patriot, who did the job of an entire research company totally alone and silently with the responsibility to take it till the end despite the difficulties and obstacles. She introduced the 2014 edition of “Bridge” yearbook and was sorry to mention that she had devoted a page to the memory of the unforgettable figure of the Armenian community in Georgia Sargis Darchinyan.

And again there sounded words of sorrow and appreciation in memory of Sargis Darchinyan who found his everlasting place in the heaven.
