The regular Commission's session of the educational – cultural and youth center “Hayartoun” took place in Galoust Gyulbenkyan hall of the Georgian Diocese “Hayartoun” center. It started with the Lord’s Prayer and with the blessings of the Primate.

The Primate of the Armenian Apostolic Church in Georgia, His Grace Bishop Vazgen Mirzakhanyan, who was presiding the session, greeted the participants with words of appreciation for the common and fruitful activities. The Primate referred to the activities of the “Hayartoun” center, stating more than 50 events that have been organized on the blessed Georgian Land and the Mother Land in cooperation with the Armenian Embassy in Georgia, Tbilisi Petros Adamyan Armenian State Dramatical Theatre, non-governmental organizations, as well as with individual representatives of literature and arts.

The Bishop valued the mission of the center. And the mission is the preservation of spiritual and national culture and traditions, and their transmission to the younger generation. The center also aims to strengthen and develop the cultural relations between Armenians and Georgians. The Primate referred to the format of the cooperation between “Hayartoun” and non-governmental organizations, stating that since its foundation “Hayartoun” Center has had cooperation with different non-governmental organizations, it has encouraged and helped them, as well has contributed to the creation of new companies.

The Primate informed the participants of the session about the reconstruction works at St. George (Surb Gevorg) Vicarial Church. He also informed about the work process at Toumanya’s House “Vernatoun”.

The President of the Session highlighted the role of non-governmental organizations in the formation of Armenian society in Georgia. The Primate also underlined the demand of the era towards non-governmental organizations and individual figures to act independently, and have their own place in various groups of the society. The Primate especially highlighted the developing autonomy, as well as the developing cultural and social relations between Armenians and Georgians, and the realization of common projects. With the mission to encourage and help, the center will support the realization of events and will respond to the problems of Armenians in Georgia.

The session underlined the necessity to increase the quality of all the events by means of close cooperation with the head of the “Hayartoun” Center.

The session members put forward different offers, which would be discussed in the next meetings and would be realized in different spheres.

At the end of the meeting the Primate offered the session members of the “Hayartoun” Center to act as the Council of the Primate till the formation of church and diocesan boards.
