Exhibition entitled “Modernity and Tradition” at the “Hayartun” Center of the Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church in Georgia PDF Print E-mail

On March 27 national master of the Republic of Armenia Karine Sahakyan’s personal exhibition entitled “Modernity and Tradition” was opened at the “Hayartun” Center of the Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church in Georgia. The works created by Karine Sahakyan due to her rich imagination, skillful hands and insightful approach were presented.

Tbilisi kintos welcomed at the center entrance the guests invited to the official opening of the exhibition, among whom were the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Armenia to Georgia Hovhannes Manoukian, the editor of “Vrastan” (“Georgia”) Van Bayburtyan, advisor of the President of Georgia for minority issues Sophio Shamanidi.

The event, which the “Hayartun” Center organized in cooperation with Tbilisi State Drama Theatre after Petros Adamyan, aimed to show the development of culture of two nations with centuries-old friendship.

Karine Sahakyan’s field of interest lies within national handicraft, and felt items in particular. Everyone who delivered a speech highly appreciated exhibit items, which showed development of Armenian and Georgian cultures, while graceful girls from the center and the theatre presented clothes out of felt, created by Karine Sahakyan’s skillful hands. The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Armenia to Georgia Hovhannes Manoukian welcomed Karine Sahakyan’s one more personal exhibition, and awarded her the Certificate of Honor from the Ministry of Diaspora of Armenia for contributing to convergence of Georgian and Armenian cultures. Dressed in folk costume Karine Sahakyan expressed her gratitude to the audience for high appreciation of her skills.

The Armenian and Georgian songs and dances were performed during the event.
