The “Hayartun” Center represented Georgian Armenian community at the event dedicated to the International Human Rights Day PDF Print E-mail

On 10 December 1948 the United Nations General Assembly adopted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, and in 1950 the United Nations General Assembly proclaimed the 10th of December the Human Rights Day.

As a marker for that day the USA, Sweden, the Netherlands, and the Great Britain Embassies to Georgia, Delegation of the European Union to Georgia, Council of Europe Office, the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, Office of Public Defender of Georgia and Eurasia Partnership Foundation, on December 10, 2013 in Tbilisi, at Zurab Tsereteli Museum of Modern Art, jointly organized a festive event, in which the representatives of different minorities took part. The event aimed to present the ethnic minorities living in Georgia.

Levon Chidilyan, coordinator of the “Hayartun” Center, Levon Isakhanyan, Head of Department of Legal Affairs, the Relationship with the State Institutions and Inter-religious Cooperation, responsible for informational technologies department Valera Badalyan, and art director Pavel Oganezov from the Georgian Armenian community attended the event.

Hayartun’s young volunteers - Stella Mkrtchyan, Milena Simonyan, Emil Sargsyan, Anna Miskaryan, Liza Torosyan, Sveta Sagradova, Ani Gushchyan, Marika Sagradova, Anna Sahakyan, Victoria Snkhchyan and Sergo Kamalov presented the activities of the organization and the Georgian Armenian community.

The Hayartun asked the organizers of the event to leave a comment on the Human Rights Day and the importance of multiculturalism. Video is available on the following link:
