On the 7^th of September, the Exhibition Hall of the National Library of Georgia hosted the evening with People’s Artist of the Republic of Armenia, awarded with the order of St. Mesrop Mashtots, Laureate of the State Prize of RA, Chairman of the Union of Composers and Musicians of Armenia, Professor Robert Amirkhanyan.

RA Embassy to Georgia in cooperation with RA Ministry of Culture, and with direct support from the Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church in Georgia organized the event. RA Ministry of Culture initiated the event with a view to strengthen cultural ties between Armenia and the Armenian community in Tbilisi.

The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Armenia to Georgia Hovhannes Manoukian with his wife, the Primate of the Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church in Georgia, His Grace Bishop Vazgen Mirzakhanyan, the clergy, representatives of the Armenian community in Tbilisi, admirers of Robert Amirkhanyan music and songs attended the event.

Levon Chidilyan, responsible for the cultural department of the Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church in Georgia, opened the event; he introduced singer Seda Amir-Karayan and the well-known composer, who had arrived from Armenia. The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Armenia to Georgia Hovhannes Manoukian in the issue of national identity preservation in the community life stressed the importance of such events, aimed at the development of cultural relations and preservation of the native language. The Ambassador thanked Robert Amirkhanyan for coming to Georgia and meeting with the Armenian community of Tbilisi.

The Head of the Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church in Georgia, His Grace Bishop Vazgen Mirzakhanyan blessed the audience and gave his opinion, he mentioned the development of Armenian culture in Georgia, the deepening of the Armenian-Georgian cultural relations, and urged by means of similar meetings and creative evenings to strengthen support for the deepening of ties and development of the national.

Famous musician Robert Amirkhanyan greeted the audience and opened the evening with song dedicated to motherland “Yeraz im yerkir” in his own performance. The masterful performance of great composer showed the beauty of his works.

Singer Seda Amir- Karayan is new in vocal performance of Armenia, but has already gained fame, she showed magnificent performance of Robet Amirkhanyan’s works during the evening. An outburst of thunderous and prolonged applause of the audience accompanied the creative evening in performance of the author and talented singer.

The evening was held in a warm atmosphere and became a beautiful memory of the audience.
