The Teachers from the Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church in Georgia Participated in 2013 “Diaspora Summer School” Program PDF Print E-mail

The Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church in Georgia and the “Hayartun” Cultural and Educational Center took an active part in “Diaspora Summer School” Program, which was organized under the auspices of the RA Ministry of Education and Science and the RA Ministry of Diaspora in Tsakhkadzor and the capital city Yerevan.

The teacher of St. Movses Khorenatsi Kindergarten at the “Hayartun” Cultural and Educational Center of the Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church in Georgia Narine Ghushchyan and the head of educational department at the Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church in Georgia Eugenia Markosyan underwent one-month training for kindergarten teachers and school principals, organized by the RA Ministry of Education and Science. Among the people from Iran, the Netherlands, France, USA, Russia and other countries, who have dedicated themselves to the preservation of the Armenian identity, they listened to and discussed a variety of lectures and seminars organized by the Language National Institute. Undoubtedly, the information about innovations and skills that contribute to the preservation of the Armenian identity the teachers will apply to the work of educational and training institutions in their places of residence, as well as will pass on acquired knowledge to coworkers by organizing seminar.

The teachers of Armenian language in Saturday and Sunday schools at the “Hayartun” Center of the Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church in Georgia Tamara Gaboyan and Roza Zohrabyan, from Batumi Sunday school - Diana Hakobyan, Gayane Vardanyan, Ruzanna Ovanesyan, Diana Keyan from Kobuleti and the spiritual supervisor of the “Hayartun” center Deacon Gevorg Antonyan took part in “Diaspora Summer School” Program, organized under the auspices of the RA Ministry of Dispora, which was held in the picturesque Tsakhkadzor. Being a part of different groups of “Diaspora Summer School”, organized on the basis of the International Center for Education of Yerevan State University, they had the opportunity to listen to the lectures on the preservation of the Armenian identity and familiarizing with the homeland in various aspects, such as: a one-day training program of the Armenian language, learning patriotic songs and folk dances, on the topics - the Armenian people and the Armenian history.

The Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church in Georgia and the “Hayartun” Center highly appreciate friendly and caring attitude of the RA Ministry of Education and Science and the RA Ministry of Diaspora, manifested to the Armenians in the Diaspora, and express their gratitude to these authorities, which contribute to the preservation of the national identity, for providing kindergarten and two Armenian language schools, existing at the Diocese and the "Hayartun" Center, with necessary textbooks. This will undoubtedly facilitate the continuation of the activities in the Armenian community of Georgia, aimed at the preservation and deepening of the national culture and the Armenian language in the Diaspora.
