On April 26, 2013 at Surb Etchmiadzin Church in Tbilisi, in the framework of events preceding the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, memorial evening entitled “The Incurable Wound” was held. The event, dedicated to the 98th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, was initiated by Tbilisi Public School № 103, headed by a teacher of Armenian language and literature Gayane Mkhitaryan. The 3rd-9th grade students of the Armenian department of the educational institution took part in the memorial evening. It was symbolic that the God's House – Surb Etchmiadzin Church- was chosen the venue of the memorial evening of the Armenian Genocide victims. Spiritual fathers of the Diocese of Armenian Apostolic Church in Georgia, the coordinator of the “Hayartun” Cultural Center, teachers of the Public School № 103, parents and believers attended the event.

A documentary film in cento reflected the Armenians open wound, it became the de facto testimony of the genocide and showed the difficult years of disasters.

At the end of the event the coordinator of the “Hayartun” Cultural Center Levon Chidilyan underlined the need to bow before the memory of ancestors, who became the innocent victims, and to educate the following generation in patriotic spirit, because the requirement to recognize the genocide is a means of fighting against the genocide.

The spiritual father of Surb Etchmiadzin Church of the Diocese of Armenian Apostolic Church Priest Samvel Torosyan blessed and highly praised the teacher Gayane Mkhitaryan, due to her efforts the new generation knows the history of its own nation; he called the memorial evening the right to claim compensation and recognition of the genocide.

The spiritual father presented the Bible to the outstanding teacher, and Levon Chidilyan handed the books published by the “Hayartun” Center to the participants of the memorial evening.
