On December 9, 2018, newly appointed Pastor Rev. Father Narek Tigranyan celebrated his first Divine Liturgy at the Surb Khach (Holy Cross) church in Akhalkalaki on the occasion of the Feast of Saint Anna’s pregnancy. The day was festive and the church was crowded. In attendance were Georgian MP Samvel Manukyan, city and district officials. The Primate of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia, His Grace Bishop Vazgen Mirzakhanyan attended the Divine Liturgy. During the Divine Liturgy, the Diocesan Primate expressed his satisfaction to the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin and to His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians for giving a new priest to the Diocese. His Grace represented to the faithful the newly ordained and newly appointed pastor Rev. Father Narek and wished him a good and brave mission of pastor. The Diocesan Primate blessed and appreciated the longtime Pastor of the Surb Khach (Holy Cross) church Rev. Father Tatev Marukyan who has earned the love and trust of the people and the clergy with his tireless service. Then Rev. Father Tatev Marukyan made a speech and thanked the officials of the prelacy, clergymen, as well as Akhalkalaki authorities for 10 years of joint work and service. Afterwards, Rev. Father Narek preached and expressed his filial gratitude to Catholicos of All Armenians, theological seminary and Diocesan Primate. He congratulated the attendees on the occasion of the feast and asked for Virgin Mary’s intercession for the Armenians worldwide. At the end of the Divine Liturgy, a reception was held in honor of Rev. Father Narek Tigranyan at the ceremony hall of the General Prelacy.
