On November 11, 2018, a group of 40 young people (7 pedagogues and 33 schoolchildren) from Akhalkalaki Youth Center, led by Director of the Center Karine Tadevosyan arrived in Tbilisi with a friendly-cognitive visit. The purpose of the visit was to get acquainted with the sights of Tbilisi, to tour the ancient city and see Armenian traces as well as to deepen friendly ties between the students of the Akhalkalaki Youth Center and "Hayartun" Center of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia, established during the visit of Tbilisi Armenians to Akhalkalaki in May. The guests were welcomed and accompanied by Revik Karapetyan, the teacher of history in one-day school of the Armenian Diocese. They visited the Mantashev trade Rows, saw the ruined Saint Norashen church, Sayat – Nova's and Sergey Parajanov's monuments, afterwards were hosted in the Cathedral of Saint George. After attending Sunday Divine Liturgy, the guests were given a warm welcome by the Primate of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia, His Grace Bishop Vazgen Mirzakhanyan and reception was organized. Continuing their tour in Tbilisi, the group visited Saint Etchmiadzin church in Avlabari after watching the castle of Metekhi. They lit candles and prayed, then moved to the "Hayartun" Educational, Cultural and Youth Center. The head of the "Hayartun" Center Eugenia Markosyan welcomed the guests in the Calouste Gulbenkian hall and presented the activity of the Center. She gave the floor to the representative of Akhalkalaki Youth, Educational and Cultural Center (YECA) Karine Tadevosyan, who highly appreciated the importance of such mutual visits in education and upbringing children with the Armenian spirit and formulation of their Armenian personality, introduced with pictures the great work carried out by the Center to preserve the national identity, culture and to convey the traditions to the generations. The bridge of friendship was further strengthen when under the leadership of the Primate of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia, a concert entitled "Land of Nairi" was held with participation of two centers' ensembles, creative groups and individual performers. They sang patriotic and pop songs, danced Armenian folk dances, played Komitas's works with duduk and dhol and recited Vahan Teryan and Hamo Sahyan. Representative of the YECA Karine Tadevosyan and the head of the "Hayartun" Center Eugenia Markosyan exchanged souvenirs. The event was concluded with blessings and appreciations of the Primate of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia, His Grace Bishop Vazgen Mirzakhanyan. The Diocesan Primate emphasized importance of mutual visits and such events in the preservation of Armenian identity and development of Armenian culture, friendship of students, importance of establishment of friendly ties which is also a way for raising culture and national pride. His Grace appreciated the readiness of students and thanked the director of the Center Karine Tadevosyan, teacher Rimma Rstakyan, teaches Vachagan Rstakyan, Silva Gharghayan, Nazik Hakobyan and others for their devotes work. Guests from Akhalkalaki also visited Tbilisi Pantheon of the Armenian Writers and Public Figures "Khojivank" where Rev. Father Tatev Marukyan welcomed them. Rev. Father told the guests about the pantheon and prayed together for the peace of the souls of deceased. The visit of students and pedagogues of the Center was concluded with watching the Bridge of Peace in Tbilisi. The warm impressions became the guarantee of the hope that the bridge of friendship of two centers will last for a long time.
