On August 21-26, 2018, the Kapan Drama Theatre named after Alexander Shirvanzade made a concert tour, in Batumi and Kobuleti, led by the Director of the theatre, Honorary Artist of the Republic of Armenia, Movses Khorenatsi medal awarded Kamo Arzumanyan, who already heads the theatre for more than a quarter of a century. The concert tours were organized with the blessings of the Primate of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia, His Grace Bishop Vazgen Mirzakhanyan and on the initiative of the pastor of Armenians in Adjara, Guria, Imereti and the Saint Savior (Surb Prkich) church in Batumi Ararat Gumbalyan. During the concert tour, Hovhannes Tumanyan's “Brave Nazar”, “Barekendan” and “Gikor” and other musical programs were presented by the staff of the theatre in the hall of “Diana” hotel complex and other halls of ceremony in Batumi. After a long pause, residents of these seaside cities and numerous tourists enjoyed these examples of theatrical art and professionalism of the artists and high-value performances. The directorate and actors of the Kapan Drama Theatre express their gratitude to the Primate of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia, His Grace Bishop Vazgen Mirzakhanyan, Pastor of the Saint Savior (Surb Prkich) church in Batumi and all the benefactors with the support of which these tours were held. Kapan Drama Theatre named after Alexander Shirvanzade in Syunik province was founded in 1939 and suffered many difficulties but now it continue to develop and reaches new achievements with the participation of various festivals and competitions, concert tours.
