On June 20, 2018, on the initiative of Association of Church-loving Women “Shushanik” of the Saint Gregory the Illuminator church in Akhaltsikhe (Samtskhe – Javakheti and Tsalka's General Prelacy of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia), with blessings of the Primate of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia, His Grace Bishop Vazgen Mirzakhanyan, the group of women, led by Deaconess Anahit Vardanyan visited the charitable canteen of the Akhaltsikhe Municipality, where once a day, food is provided to people who live in extremely poor conditions. The aim of the women’s visit was to participate in God-pleasing mission of the Municipality and fill the day of the charitable canteen’s attendees with sweetness. Keeping this beautiful idea in their hearts, each member of the Women’s Association has prepared various sweets, cookies, biscuits and bakery products. Deputy Mayor of the city Ruben Karapetyan, Head of Social, Medical, Sport and Youth Committee Hambardzum Baboyan, Director of the charitable canteen Vera Bardzimadze and other attendees welcomed the visitors near the Municipality building and accompanied them to the canteen. The women handed over the goods to the cooks of the canteen who would distribute it to the needy people who will attend the canteen. The staff of the charitable canteen expressed their deep gratitude to the Association of Church-loving Women “Shushanik” of the Saint Gregory the Illuminator church in Akhaltsikhe and the Chairperson of the Association for beautiful and humanitarian initiative. The Women’s Association intends to make such initiatives continuous and with such charitable visits beautify the daily routine of people in need.
