A1On May 11, 2018, on the initiative of the member of the “Vernatun” Union of Armenian Writers of Georgia Artem Grigorents (Kirakozov), an unusual literary evening took place at the “House of Hovhannes Tumanyan” Center for Science and Culture of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia. He had invited guests to discuss his poems with them before the publication of the collection of poems.
In his introductory speech Artem Grigorents announced that he does not consider himself a poet, but he always writes on a paper poetic lines which unintentionally were born in his soul. That is how a tome of poems was created, the publishing of which he intends to dedicate to his 70th anniversary.
Among the attendees were bright figures of the Armenian, Russian and Georgian literary mind, writers, critics who unambiguously emphasized the importance of author's decision to listen and accept friends' advices and suggestions to present to readers a more completed collection of the poems. 34033867
Afterwards, Artem Grigorents's poems, rhymed thoughts, as well as translations in Russian, Armenian and English languages, done by his writer friends followed one another. The poems from future collection were wonderfully recited by the students of the N104 Armenian public school, who had come under the guidance of librarian Hasmik Antonyan.
Artem Grigorents has a bright personality. Previously, an engineer-mechanic, a scientific worker and professional musician is also a talented prose writer, a self-taught dramaturge. Collecting an amateur theater group he staged three plays and the fourth one will come soon. It should be mentioned that recently Artem Grigorents became the winner in the nomination “Non-ordinary works”, announced by “Georgian Elite” publishing house.
Artem Grigorents's first publications appeared in the Russian - language “Литературная Армения” (“Literary Armenia”) literary magazine in the early 90's, the translations were published on the pages of the “Vernatun” yearbook and the “Kamurj” (“Bridge”) almanac.
At the end of the literary evening, Rev. Father Kirakos Simonyan, Spiritual Superintendent of the “House of Hovhannes Tumanyan” Center highly appreciated the great work done by Artem Grigorents. He noted although William Saroyan lived in America and had written in English, his literary work's spirit is Armenian. The same we can say for Artem Grigorents – he lives in Georgia and writes in Russian language, but he have maintained the Armenian spirit which we feel in his works written in various genres.
So went on Artem Grigorents's (Kirakozov's) creative evening, which was appreciated for his creativity, organizational and directing skills.
