On May 1, 2018, in Tbilisi City Court, delayed court hearing in the framework of the trial of the dispute of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia against the National Agency of Public Registry of Georgia took place, chaired by judge Nana Daraselia. The plaintiff in this case, in the person of the Primate of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia, His Grace Bishop Vazgen Mirzakhanyan, as well as authorized persons from the National Agency of Public Registry was present at the court session. The Patriarchate of the Georgian Orthodox Church attended as a third party. The National Agency of State Property of the Ministry of Economy of Georgia was included in the Administrative proceedings of the case as a third party. The National Agency of State Property has alienated from the state's balance sheet the Tandoyants Saint Astvatsatsin church and the land area attached to it, without any grounds, thus facilitating the transfer of the Armenian Church to the Patriarchate's balance sheet. This last circumstance of the case which was included in the case proceedings and appealed by the Armenian Diocese in Georgia, by the decision of the court was considered as a separate issue and discussion of it was scheduled for May 2, 2018. The EMC and TDI lawyers, representing the interests of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia, offered mediation to include the complaint against the National Agency of State Property of the Ministry of Economy of Georgia on the alienation of the Tandoyants Saint Astvatsatsin church from state balance sheet in the framework of the case proceedings and discuss it as part of the full case. Judge Nana Daraselia accepted the mediation and proposed to postpone the trial to get acquainted with the case materials and the decision of the court hearing on May 2 on this issue. By the agreement of the parties, the next court hearing was appointed on June 7, 2018, at 12:30.
