On April 21, 2018, Grigor Mkrtchyan’s first personal exhibition of paintings opened at the Alexander Mantashev Educational, Cultural and Youth Center in Batumi (Armenian Diocese in Georgia). The cultural event was organized and implemented on the initiative of the Alexander Mantashev Center. The opening ceremony was attended by artists, painters, art lovers. Sona Hovhannisyan, Director of the Center offered opening remarks. Young talented artist Grigor Mkrtchyan signs his works by the name of Greg Megerdich. Painting is not Grigor’s main job, it is his hobby and he spends the most of his free time on painting. Together with landscapes and still life, he likes to create portraits, in which using colors he reflects the inner world of the person, emotions as well as mood and feelings. And although Grigor does not have art education, his works are distinguished by high technical level, bright and lively colors and realistic characters. Rev. Father Ararat Gumbalyan, Pastor of the Surb Prkich (Saint Savior) church in Batumi, artists Akaki Dzneladze, Lado Sharashidze and others expressed their opinions and highly appreciated the paintings of the young talented artist.
