A1On April 14, 2018, there was a real celebration of Armenian folk, ethnographic and patriotic song and dance in the Calouste Gulbenkian Hall of “Hayartun” Center of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia. In the concert program, entitled “Sings Henrikh Petrosyan”, besides the solo artist,IMG 1537 different music performers of the Armenian community in Tbilisi were included to give the audience a nice evening of Armenian singing.
In this way we could comment on the truly festive solo concert of Henrikh Petrosyan.
The song lovers of Henrikh Petrosyan, those who appreciate performances of the “Ani” Dance Ensemble, listeners of dhol and duduk melodies, as well as fans of Anna Badalyan and Nina Karapetyan were gathered in the hall.
Director of the Cultural Department and the Head of the “Hayartun” Center of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia, Levon Chidilyan gave opening remarks. Touching upon the essential role of culture in the preservation of Armenian identity and highly appreciating patriotic and devoted activities of actor, soloist IMG 1601and active member of the Armenian community Henrikh Petrosyan, the speaker also urged the all attendees to participate in the events dedicated to the 103th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide on April 23-24.
The concert program was special: it includes patriotic songs of different authors, performed by Henrikh Petrosyan and presented with a great talent and new approaches.
Armenian wonderful poem “I love my sweet Armenia’s…” and the video dedicated to the Motherland immediately created an atmosphere of patriotism, which was saturated with the folk, lyrical, ashugh and martial songs, dances and melodies. IMG 1655
More than dozen songs performed by Henrikh Petrosyan followed after being presented by Gloria Gevorgyan and Aram Melikyan. The guests enjoyed national and gusan (minstrel or poet-musician) songs, performed by Nina Karapetyan and Anna Badalyan, marvellous sounds of duduk and dhol group led by teachers Robert Kashavanidze and Ivane Mkrtchyan, dance performances of “Ani” Dance Ensemble led by choreographer Angelina Nazaryan, group and individual performances of the well-known Nerses Shnorhali (Nerses the Gracious) choir of “Hayartun” Center led by choirmaster Mari Abulyan.
The solo concert brought joyful mood and great enthusiasm to the attendees and was completed with the group performance of “Erebuni – Yerevan” patriotic song.
