On April 1, 2018, the Feast of the Glorious Resurrection of Our Lord Jesus Christ was celebrated with the Divine Liturgy in the Surb Prkich (Saint Savior) church in Batumi. The church was full of faithful. People came with festive mood and beautifully decorated baskets of Easter goods.
Rev. Father Ararat Gumbalyan, pastor of the Surb Prkich (Saint Savior) church in Batumi, celebrated the Divine Liturgy, which was attended by the Inga Shamilashvili, Minister of Education and Science of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara, Eghishe Sargsyan, Consul General of the Republic of Armenia in Batumi, as well as community figures, guests.
At the end of the Divine Liturgy, the guests went to “Alexander Mantashyants” Educational, Cultural and Youth Center, where Sona Hovhannisyan, director of the Center welcomed them. The students of three grades of the “Saint Mesrop Mashtots” Sunday school of the Center; headed by teacher Satenik Danielyan organized an Easter celebration. The table decorated with Easter goods, performances of artistic groups made the day happy and festive in Batumi.
On the day of the Feast of the Glorious Resurrection of Our Lord Jesus Christ, pastor of the Armenian Communities of Tetritskaro and Bolnisi regions, Rev. Father Husik Harutyunyan visited Armenian villages in his pastorate.
In the morning he arrived in Daghet – Khachen village in Tetritskaro. Rev. Father Husik Harutyunyan offered the Morning Service in the Surb Astvatsatsin (the Holy Mother of God) church, congratulated local residents on the occasion of the Easter Feast and blessed the eggs.
On the same day the priest also attended the Surb Prkich (Holy Savior) church in the village of Samshvilde and the Surb Astvatsatsin (the Holy Mother of God) church in Shahumyan Settlement. Congratulating the faithful on the occasion of the Easter Feast, Rev. Father baptized villagers of different ages with the Holy Muron. Day was ended in the Chapel Srbots Avetaranchats (Chaple of Holy Evangelists) in the village of Karmir (Red), where Rev. Father Husik Harutyunyan offered Evening Service and congratulated the locals.
The Feast of the Glorious Resurrection of Our Lord Jesus Christ was solemnly celebrated in the “Saint Gregory of Narek” Educational, Cultural, Youth and Spiritual Center in Rustavi city. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Armenia to Georgia Ruben Sadoyan and embassy diplomats were present at the celebration.
The event was honored with the presence of the Primate of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia, His Grace Bishop Vazgen Mirzakhanyan.
Rev. Father Narek Ghushchyan, pastor of Armenians of Rustavi city and Marneuli region welcomed the guests and presented the Center’s activities, congratulated the faithful on the occasion of the Easter Feast. Afterward, the students of the Center presented event dedicated to the Easter Feast.
