On April 1, 2018, the Fest of the Glorious Resurrection of Our Lord Jesus Christ was celebrated in the Armenian Diocese in Georgia with participation of a large crowd of the faithful and in accordance with the rules and ceremonies of the Armenian Church. Sacred ceremonies took place in the evening of the Candlelight Liturgy and the day of Easter feast in Batumi, Samtskhe-Javakheti, Marneuli, Tsalka and Tetritskharo region with the participation of a large crowd of the faithful.
The Saint Etchmiadzin church in Avlabari, in Tbilisi, the church courtyard and the surrounding area were full of the faithful. The Divine Service and the Blessing of the Four Corners of the Earth (Andastan) were performed in the church. After that the Primate of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia, His Grace Bishop Vazgen Mirzakhanyan celebrated a Divine Liturgy on the occasion of the Feast of the Glorious Resurrection of Our Lord Jesus Christ.
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Armenia to Georgia Ruben Sadoyan, Embassy diplomats, poet – translator Givi Shahnazar, editor of “Vrastan” (“Georgia”) newspaper Van Bayburdyan, community officials, educational and cultural figures, many Armenians were present at the Divine Liturgy.
The feast in the Armenian Church in occasion of the Glorious Resurrection of Our Lord Jesus Christ was honored with the presence of the representatives of the Georgian authorities. In particular, the Members of Georgian Parliament Davit Chichinadze, Ruslan Poghosyan, Roman Kakulia, Mayor of Tbilisi Kakha Kaladze, Chairman of the regional board of Isani district Kakha Labuchidze, the member of the Sakrebulo of Isani district Ilya Jishkariani, members from “National Movement” and “European Georgia” political parties attended the event.
During the Divine Liturgy His Grace Bishop Vazgen Mirzakhanyan read the message of His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians on the occasion of the Feast of the Glorious Resurrection of Our Lord Jesus Christ.
At the conclusion of the Divine Liturgy, the Diocesan Primate congratulated the faithful on the occasion of the Easter Feast, as on occasion of the triumph of good over evil and light over darkness.  
Then the reception took place in the Calouste Gulbenkian Hall of the “Hayratun” Center. During the reception the Diocesan Primate again congratulated the faithful on the occasion of the Feast of the Glorious Resurrection of Our Lord Jesus Christ.
His Grace Bishop Vazgen Mirzakhanyan congratulated the Christian people of Georgia, which today was celebrating Palm Sunday.
After the festive reception, the Primate of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia, His Grace Bishop Vazgen Mirzakhanyan left for village of Satkha in Ninotsminda region in Javakhk, where a gorgeous Easter celebration was organized by the worthy sons of Armenian nation.
Divine Liturgies on the occasion of the Feast of the Glorious Resurrection of Our Lord Jesus Christ were celebrated in the churches of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia. Everywhere Georgian officials, faithful of various nationalities came to congratulate the Armenian faithful on the occasion of Easter. The Feast of the Glorious Resurrection of Our Lord Jesus Christ celebrated by the Armenian Church; was covered by various Georgian and Armenian mass media.
