Within the framework of his visit to the USA on the occasion of the Supreme Spiritual Council meeting and the events in celebration of the 90th anniversary of establishment of the Western Diocese, at the invitation of Primate of the Western Diocese of North America, His Eminence Archbishop Hovnan Derderian; on November 5, 2017, the Supreme Spiritual Council member, Primate of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia, His Grace Bishop Vazgen Mirzakhanyan celebrated a Divine Liturgy at the diocesan St.Gregory the Illuminator Armenian Apostolic Church of Pasadena. The St.Gregory the Illuminator Armenian Apostolic Church was filled to capacity on this occasion. The service was attended by representatives of Armenian organizations, worthy children of Armenian nation, many faithful. Following the Divine Liturgy, the celebrant Bishop Vazgen conveyed his fraternal love to the Primate of the Western Diocese of North America; the diocesan council members; Pastor of St.Gregory the Illuminator Armenian Apostolic Church, Rev. Father Sarkis Petrosyan; Rev. Father Stepanos Tingilyan, the parish council members, the deacons and acolytes for the reception and the joint prayer service. Bishop Vazgen spoke on the history of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia and the current situation. The Bishop delivered the homily and spoke about the mission of the Saint Etchmiadzian and spiritual unity of all Armenians. At the conclusion of the Divine Liturgy, a Pontifical Prayer was offered on the occasion of the 18th anniversary of the enthronement of His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians. Following church services, according to a tradition, the local Armenian community had set up a dessert table and invited the Primate of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia. During the conversation around the table they discussed the central theme of the sermon. |
