On October 21, 2017, the Feast of the Evangelists Sts. Mathew, Mark, Luke and John was celebrated in Tsiteli Village, Kvemo Kartli region. This day became a day of celebration for the residents of the village. Children and adults alike gathered in the Chapel Srbots Avetaranchats (Chapel of Holy Evangelists) in the Tsiteli Village to attend the Divine Liturgy.

On the occasion of the mystery of the day, with the support of the Primate of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia, the pilgrimage of Armenian faithful of Tbilisi was organized to the Chapel of Holy Evangelists. Soon the faithful were joined by a group of faithful of the Surb Astvatsatsin Church (Holy Mother of God) in Shahumyan village, led by Rev. Father Husik Harutyunyan, Pastor of Armenians in Bolnisi and Tetritskaro regions.

The Primate of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia, His Grace Bishop Vazgen Mirzakhanyan, accompanied by the clergy, had arrived at the village. In the village center the Diocesan Primate had a discussion with local leaders and pious Armenians of the village.

The Chapel Srbots Avetaranchats was crowded. The Primate of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia presided over the Divine Liturgy. The celebrant was Rev. Father Samvel Torosyan, Pastor of the Cathedral of Saint George.

During the Divine Liturgy, Bishop Vazgen preached about the mystery of the day. Referring to the Feast of the Evangelists, the Primate spoke about their activities, symbols, and drew parallels between the period of the Evangelists and modern times.

The Choir of the St. Etchmiadzin from Tbilisi performed Armenian sharakans during the liturgy in the Chapel Srbots Avetaranchats (Chapel of Holy Evangelists).

Throughout the Divine Liturgy children of the village, surrounding the Diocesan Primate, attended the service, and at the conclusion together with the faithful and pilgrims took Holy Communion.

The Tsiteli village has a hundred year-old history. Approximately two hundred Armenian families live there, most of them displaced from Western Armenia. Armenians settled down in this safe place and preserved their language, faith and national values. The Chapel Srbots Avetaranchats (Chapel of Holy Evangelists) was built and consecrated in 2012 with the support of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia and private benefactors.

The diocesan clergy offer Divine Liturgies and church services in the Chapel Srbots Avetaranchats (Chapel of Holy Evangelists) on regular basis. With assistance from the pious Armenians of the village, cross-Stone in Memory of the canonized victims of the Genocide was consecrated, on the occasion of the 100th Anniversary of the Armenian Genocide.
