On September 8, 2017, the delegation of Erebuni administrative district of Yerevan, led by Deputy Head of Erebuni administrative district Armen Osipyan, visited the Hayartun Center of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia. The delegates included Head of Department of Education, Culture and Youth Affairs of the administrative district, Sima Baghdasaryan; Head of Department of Health and socially disadvantaged families, Stella Avagyan; employee of the administrative district Arthur Osipyan. Their purpose was to familiarize themselves with the activities of the Educational Department of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia and the Hayartun Center. The guests toured the Hayartun Center, learned about the activities of Sunday Schools and St. Movses Khorenatsi Kindergarten, the activities that are being carried out in the creative groups; saw the classrooms and the preschool. Eugenia Markosyan, Director of the Educational Department of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia and the "St. Movses Khorenatsi" Preschool Principal; briefed the guest on the education activities, highlighted the purpose of the kindergarten to preserve the Armenian identity and language, provide the Armenian children of Tbilisi with education in the Armenian spirit. The Department Director stressed the point that in this regard the kindergarten becomes more and more efficient every year, sending more and more children to Armenian schools. Later, preschool graduates of the current year with beautiful gait entered the hall and in Armenian welcomed the guests; many of them will enter the Armenian schools for the first time this year. The children performed songs and dances, recited poems and demonstrated the knowledge they had gained in the kindergarten. The guests highly appreciated the performance. Deputy Head of Erebuni administrative district highly estimated the activities of the Hayartun Center, particularly the preschool, aimed at the preservation of the national identity, congratulated the children on the beginning of the new academic year and gave all of them beautiful school bags and stationary. Rev.Father Manuk Zeynalian, a sacristan of the St. Echmiadzin Church in Tbilisi; and Director of the Cultural Department of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia, Levon Chidilyan; highly appreciated the attention of Erebuni administrative district. The guests lit candles and raised their prayers in the Saint Etchmiadzin Church. The Primate of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia, His Grace Bishop Vazgen Mirzakhanyan greeted the guests and offered his blessings. Stressing the significance of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia in the preservation of national spirit and development of the Armenian Church, and the role and contributions of the Primate of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia, Deputy Head Armen Osipyan presented the Bishop with the painting of artist Lusik Agulets. At the conclusion of the meeting the sides expressed the desire to expand the cooperation between the Hayartun Center of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia and Erebuni administrative district of Yerevan. The representatives of Erebuni administrative district visited the “House of Hovhannes Tumanyan” Center for Science and Culture, as well as the Tbilisi Pantheon of the Armenian Writers and Public Figures “Khojivank” and the Saint Gevorg Cathedral. |
