On May 24, 2017, the State Agency for Religious Issues held a presentation of the religious maps at the Courtyard Marriott which was attended by the representatives of the Parliament of Georgia, Government of Georgia, diplomatic corps, the leaders of different religious organizations and other guests.

The Armenian Diocese in Georgia was represented by Michael Avagyan, Head of Legal Affairs and Cooperation Department; and Deacon Gevork Antonyan.
Zaza Vashakmadze, the Head of the State Agency for Religious Issues, offered opening remarks. The religious map has been created by the State Agency for Religious Issues. Three options of the religious maps were presented – regional, district and a map of religious buildings. The agency created an electronic version that has already been uploaded on the site. While the regional and district maps contain data on religious affiliation for the country, monasteries, churches and mosques located on the territory of Georgia are depicted on the map of religious buildings.
The agency worked in coordination with the National Statistics Office for about a year and a half, accordingly the product was done. According to the data of the National Statistics Office of Georgia marked on the map, there are: Orthodox people (83,4 %), Muslims (10,74 %), Armenians (2,94 %),  Catholics (0,52%), Jehovah’s Witnesses (0,33 %), Yezidis (0,23 %) and Jews (0,04 %). In addition, there was a category “other” in the questionnaire which meant the following categories: confession is not specified, refusal to answer, none and any other small confessions.
