On February 5, 2017, at Akhalkalaki’s Surb Khach (St. Cross) Church, Very Rev. Fr. Babken Salbiyan, the Prelate of Samtskhe-Javakheti and Tsalka's General Prelacy of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia, presided over the Divine Liturgy on Sunday.

During the Divine Liturgy, Rev. Father Tatev Marukyan, Pastor of Armenians in Akhalkalaki and nearby villages, read Certificate of Honor granted to Gevorg Hayasa in the category “Defender of the Native Language”, within the scope of the annual Pan-Armenian Awards “For notable contribution to the preservation of the Armenian Identity” of the RA Ministry of Diaspora.

Very Rev. Father Babken Salbiyan extended his blessings and appreciation to Gevorg Hayasa for the preservation and dissemination of the native language and presented him with the medal and the Certificate of Honor.

The clergy and officials of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia extend their congratulations to the nation’s honorable son on receiving the award.
