On November 29, 2016, the Calouste Gulbenkian Hall of the “Hayartun” Center of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia hosted a general meeting. It was attended by the diocese officials and clergy. The meeting was dedicated to visit of the Primate of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia, His Grace Bishop Vazgen Mirzakhanyan to the Unites States, within the framework of the autumn meeting of the Supreme Spiritual Council, as well as to celebrate the fact that Hayartun Facebook Page reached the 10,000 fans milestone.

The meeting began with the Lord’s Prayer and blessings from the Primate.

The Primate briefed on the Armenian community and the Armenian Church in New York, the activities of the Western Diocese and the Eastern Diocese of the Armenian Church of North America, preservation of the Armenian language and the national identity in the US, spoke about one-day Armenian schools, youth organizations and the Armenian NGO’s.

Bishop Vazgen had participated in the solemn celebration of the110th anniversary of the Armenian General Benevolent Union in New York and he shared his impressions of the engagement of the Armenian community, AGBU’s activity for the benefit of the nation.

The Primate of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia spoke about general acquaintance with work, exchange of experiences, highlighting the interest in work of the cultural, educational and youth centers at the Armenian Diocese in Georgia, which has set a wonderful example for others to follow.

The Diocesan Primate congratulated Press and Media Department of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia on the fact that the Hayartun Facebook Page has reached the 10,000 fans milestone.

On return of the Primate of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia, His Grace Bishop Vazgen Mirzakhanyan from his trip to the United States a reception was held to celebrate a milestone – reaching 10 000 Facebook likes.
