The Hayartun Center Hosted a Concert of the Aregnazan School Students PDF Print E-mail

Aregnazan 

On June 4, 2016, the Aregnazan Waldorf School 11th grade students with their teachers visited the Hayartun Center at the Armenian Diocese in Georgia.

Being involved in an exchange program the Aregnazan School students visited the Waldorf School in Tbilisi and expressed their willingness to give a beautiful concert for Armenians of Tbilisi.

The group of students from Yerevan, led by teachers Nane Soghomonyan and Aspram Nzhdehyan, visited the Saint Etchmiadzin Church in Avlabari and lit candles there.

The Head of the Cultural Department of the Diocese and the Director of the Hayartun Center, Levon Chidilyan, welcomed the guests in the Calouste Gulbenkian Hall of the “Hayartun” Center at the Armenian Diocese in Georgia. He presented the guests with the copy of “Sayat-Nova” trilingual book-album and a book - Georgian historical sketch of Armenian Genocide.

Nane Soghomonyan, the teacher of the Aregnazan School, thanked everyone for a warm reception; she spoke about the establishment of the Aregnazan Waldorf School, the educational system, teaching methods, and other benefits of studying at this educational institution.

The concert program included polyphonic performances of classical, patriotic and folk songs, as well as Armenian folk dances.

The Taron Dance Group of the Hayartun Center performed for the guests a traditional Armenian dance “Sgherdi Kochari”, after which the young Armenians from Yerevan and Tbilisi together brought the program to the conclusion and joined in the circle dance “Alashkerti Kochari”.

The meeting marked the start of friendly relations between the Hayartun Center at the Armenian Diocese in Georgia and the Aregnazan School in Yerevan. Both sides expressed a strong desire and hope to proceed with cooperation.
