The May triple-holiday unites celebratory events commemorating the Victory over Fascism, the Liberation of Shushi, and formation of the Nagorno-Karabakh Defense Army - the Volunteer Defenders Union Day. At the initiative of Aliq Media Armenian information portal and the Hayartun Center, on May 8, the Akaki Khorava House of Actors in Tbilisi hosted a concert dedicated to formation of the Nagorno-Karabakh Defense Army with the participation of a special guest, Ruben Hakhverdyan. Military, patriotic, philosophical songs about love and fidelity written by Armenian poet, singer, songwriter, guitarist and lyricist, Ruben Hakhverdyan, were performed by the famous and beloved author.
At the initiative of the Armenian Community of Georgia NGO in the square of Armenian-inhabited Metromsheni town district, on May 9, Yeraton-2016 Open Air festival dedicated to the May triple-holiday, with the participation of Tbilisi’s best performers (dance groups and singers) took place. The Hayartun Cultural, Educational and Youth Center participated with six musical numbers performed by the owner of gold medal Taron Dance Group, duduk and dhol classes, Saint Nerses Shnorhali Youth Choir, solo performers of Hayos Band Vocal-Instrumental Ensemble. These holidays represent victory and struggle for peace, which are special for Armenian people and under the name May triple-holiday include victories of three generations.
