The State Agency for Religious Issues presented the report of 2015. In terms of the restitution of ownership on religious buildings taken from the religious entities by the Soviet Union, in 2015, 35 mosque buildings in Adjara were returned to the Muslim community (79 mosques were returned to the Muslim community of Georgia since 2014). The Jewish community got back 5 synagogues (altogether 12 synagogues since 2014).

The church building located in the city of Gori was returned to the Evangelic Protestant Church, in 2015.

Recommendatory Commission studied the property and funding issues of religious organizations, according to the report.

“Two buildings were handed over the Administration of All Muslims of Georgia in order to place a religious school (madrasa) and the Mufti’s office building of Western Georgia.

A recommendation was adopted on reconstruction and expansion of Batumi’s Orta Jame Mosque.
