The members of the Youth Department of the Diocese – Sergey Kamalov, Rozita Gambarova, Armine Ghushchyan, Marianna Kirakozova and Milena Galustova joined the third session of the summer camp, organized on the initiative of the Ministry of Sport and Youth Affairs of Georgia. Along with their enjoyable vacation, the university and high school students were involved in archeological excavation work.

From August 7 to 17, 2015, the group of young Armenians worked on an archeological site in Nastakisi near Ksani. The excavation work started at 7 a.m. and continued until noon. Under the supervision of the camp director, Ilia State University lecturer, Maia Charkviani and under the direction of different university professors, the students conducted excavation activities at a site 3 kilometers distant from the official site. The students were taught how to use tools correctly, sort fossil bones, and define the color, quality and the storage conditions for ceramics.

Among other activities, which included excursions and games, the trip to Dzalisi was the most exciting one and created many beautiful memories.

This archeological summer camp brought together young students of different nationalities.

It is worth mentioning that the Ministry of Sport and Youth Affairs of Georgia thanked Nina Seropova, the Coordinator of the Youth Activities of the Diocese, for the good behavior of the Armenian students and for her dedicated work.
