On June 27, 2015, the Primate of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia, His Grace Bishop Vazgen Mirzakhanyan met with the Catholicos Patriarch of Georgia, Ilia II. His Grace gave His Holiness the letter of condolence from His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians, related to the catastrophic flood that resulted in the loss of human life.

The Primate of the Armenian Diocese and the Catholicos Patriarch of All Georgia discussed several issues relevant for the Armenian community and the Armenian Church in Georgia. Both sides expressed readiness to conduct regular meetings in order to resolve all outstanding problems in the atmosphere of Christian love and mutual understanding.

The Catholicos Patriarch of All Georgia conveyed his best wishes to His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians and pointed out that the Georgian Orthodox Church will always support the ArmenianApostolicHolyChurch.

The representatives of the Armenian Diocese, the Director of the Legal Affairs and Cooperation Department and the Head of the Social Service, Deacon Gevorg Antonyan alsoheld a working meeting with the officials of the Patriarchate. Catholicos Patriarch Ilia II Secretary, Shorena Tetruashvili and clergymen from the Georgian side attended the meeting.
