On June 25, 2015, the Armenian Apostolic Orthodox Holy Church celebrated the Feast of the Holy Translators. On this occasion the Divine Liturgy was conducted in the Saint Etchmiadzin Church, Tbilisi, under the leadership of the Primate of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia, His Grace Bishop Vazgen Mirzakhanyan. The event was attended by the clergy, professional translators, intelligentsia representatives and Armenian believers.

When conducting the Divine Liturgy, the officiating priest Rev. Fr. Ter Ghevond Topshyan from Akhaltsikhe and nearby Armenian communities, read a sermon on the sacrament of the day. Father recalled the Holy Translators Sahak Parthev (Isaac of Armenia) and Mesrop Mashtots, who invented the Armenian alphabet consisting of 36 letters and preserving Armenian literature, thoughts and faith for already 1600 years.

After the Divine Liturgy, the representatives of Tbilisi’s Armenian intelligentsia accompanied by the Primate, visited the Khojivank Pantheon of Armenian writers and public figures, read a prayer and paid homage to the Armenian Greats. The Primate of the Diocese noted that the Feast of the Holy Translators is celebrated twice a year and encouraged the people present to respect and praise the contribution of our Greats Saint Sahak Partev and Saint Mesrop Mashtots to Armenian literature and religious bibliography.
