The Shamshulda (Samshvilde) Village in the Tetritskaro region is located 60 kilometers from Tbilisi. Due to the absence of local representation, Rev. Fr. Ter Narek Ghushchyan from the Saint Gevorg Vicarial Church, Tbilisi, conducts religiousceremonies on-site, with instructions from the Primate of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia, His Grace Bishop Vazgen Mirzakhanyan.

The latest visit was held on June 13, 2015. The representatives of the Armenian Diocese, Levon Chidilyan, Valery Badalyan, Susanna Khachatryan, operator Gevorg Poghosov and the artistic groups of Robert Kashavanidze and Ivane Mkrtchyan visitedShamshuldatogether with Rev. Fr. Ter Narek Ghushchyan.

The villagers gathered in the Surb PrkichOld Church (Saint Savior), where Rev. Fr. Ter Narek Ghushchyan performeda mass baptism of congregants of different ages and anointed them with the sacred chrism.

Various artistic groups from the “Hayartun” Centerperformed at the event. Solo performances by Anna Poghosova, Ani Hovhannisyan, Ruzanna Mikaeliants and Hovhannes Shahnazaryan highlighted by Liza Torosyan’s touching recitation, were combined with dhol and duduk concerts. The Taron Dance Ensemble (dance instructor – Angelina Nazaryan-Kocharyan) performed national dances also as a part of the celebration.

At the conclusion of the event, Rev. Fr. Ter Narek Ghushchyan addressed the congregation and praised them for their dedication to their faith and for living their nation'sl values. In his remarks he also praised the decision by a local inhabitant, Ararat Kamalyan to acquire the territory of the Saint Savior Church and to donate it to the Armenian Diocese in Georgia .

The guests also visited the XIX century church of Surb Astvatsatsin Church (Holy Mother of God Church). After the prayer and candle lighting, the Matagh(Thanksgiving Animal Sacrifice) was offered by the Kamalyan family.
