Armenian Days Closing Ceremony in Tbilisi № 98 Public School |
Tbilisi № 98 Russian Public School celebrated its 60th anniversary in 2014/2015 academic year. More than 1200 students of 19 different nationalities, including 750 Armenian students study there. The school traditionally holds events to support the preservation of traditions and national values. Last ten days of April were proclaimed Armenian Days. The closing ceremony of the event was held on April 30. Diplomats from the RA Embassy in Georgia, Karen Melikyan and Artak Kalashyan, Father Ter Husik Harutyunyan from the Saint Etchmiadzin Church, Director of the Hayartun Center, Levon Chidilyan, Director of the Educational Department, Eugenia Markosyan, Director of the Press and Media Department, Susanna Khachatryan, President of the Union of Armenians of Georgia, Henrikh Muradyan, Editor of “Vrastan” (“Georgia”) Newspaper, Van Baiburtyan, Director of Tbilisi № 84 Public School, Manana Batsikadze were among the guests. Amalia Nikoghosyan and Henrikh Petrosyan (hosts) were conducting the event in Armenian and Georgian. One by one they were announcing the beautiful performances of the “Ani” Dance Ensemble. The Director of the school, Giorgi Momtsemlidze thanked the organizers, participants and guests and announced the delegations of the Russian Federation and the People’s Republic of China will visit Tbilisi in May. All the performers congratulated the management and the teaching staff of the school. The concert dedicated to the Armenian culture as part of the 60th anniversary closing ceremony contributed to an atmosphere of tolerance, understanding and mutual respect. The “Ani” Dance Ensemble gave Saint George’s icon as a gift to the school’s museum named after Sayat-Nova. The Hayartun Center donated albums and books. The events dedicated to the 60th anniversary of the school will continue to be held.
