On April 15, a classical music concert entitled “I Remember and Demand” was held in Calouste Gulbenkian Hall of the Hayartun Center. Makar Yekmalyan’s choir and students from V. Sarajishvili Tbilisi State Conservatoire took part in the concert dedicated to the 100th Anniversary of the Armenian Genocide. The concert's programme included compositions of Piazzolla, Beethoven, Caccini, Bach/Gounod and Komitas.

Hovhannes Hambardzumyan, one of the descendants of Genocide survivors, performed his work “Commemorative Liturgy”, which first was presented two years ago in the Saint Etchmiadzin Church in Tbilisi and later in different cities throughout France.

This concert became homage of young musicians to the memory of the Armenian Genocide victims. At the end of the event, the Primate of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia, His Grace Bishop Vazgen Mirzakhanyan expressed his appreciation to Makar Yekmalyan and his choir and conservatoire students. It was agreed to hold a bigger concert in Tbilisi State Conservatoire Hall.
