Delegation of the Department of Youth Affairs Participated in AGBU General Assembly PDF Print E-mail

From 1 to 3 April 2015 the AGBU 88th General Assembly was held in Yerevan. More than 150 delegations from different countries took part in this event. The delegation of the Department of Youth Affairs of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia was represented by its director Valery Badalyan, coordinator Nina Seropova, president of Young Diplomats’ Club of Georgia, Giorgi Tumasyan, translator Marina Sargsyan and department members Revik Karapetyan and Sergey Najarov. His Grace Bishop Bagrat Galstyan, Chief of the RA President’s Administration, Vigen Sargsyan, AGBU president Berge Setrakian, founder of TUMO center Sam Simonian and Armenian great benefactor Ruben Vardanyan were among honored guests.

Human Capital in Armenia and the Diaspora”, “The Challenges of Building the Armenian State”, “Improving Armenians' International Standing” and other topics were discussed. The participants listened carefully the speeches of delegation members of the Armenian Diocese, which mainly concerned the positions of the Armenian community in Georgia during the last century, especially the development of Armenian intellectual life and the role of the Nersisian school, the preservation of national identity and national values in Diaspora, the development of the national school.

Within the framework of the AGBU 88th General Assembly, delegation members visited UWC Dilijan College, American University of Armenia and TUMO Center for Creative Technologies. They also visited the Armenian Genocide memorial complex on the hill of Tsitsernakaberd and laid flowers to honor the memory of the genocide victims.
