On April 5, 2015 the churches of the Armenian Diocese in Tbilisi, Samtskhe-Javakheti, Marneuli and Batumi solemnly celebrated Easter according to the Armenian Church canons and rites. The Saint Etchmiadzin church in Avlabari and nearby territories was crowded. Many community officials, artists and educational workers attended the event.

The morning service, the ceremony of Andastan, and after that the Divine Liturgy in honor of the Resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ were conducted in the church by the Primate of the Armenian Diocese, His Grace Bishop Vazgen Mirzakhanyan.

At the end of the Divine Liturgy the Primate of the Diocese congratulated the parish on the occasion of the Lord’s Resurrection and read a sermon on the sacrament of the day. He refered to Armenian people, deprived from their homeland after the massacre but finally revived; who continue to write their history, build churches and preserve Armenian language.His Grace also congratulated Georgian people on Palm Sunday.
