On March 29, 2015 a literary and musical evening was held in Calouste Gulbenkian Hall of the Hayartun Center. The evening was organized by the honored teacher of Armenian language and literature, Roza Zohrabyan, with the assistance of the Hayartun Center and with the participation of “St Yeghia” Sunday school students.

The Primate of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia, His Grace Bishop Vazgen Mirzakhanyan also attended the evening together with writers, poets, businessmen and connoisseurs of Vahan Terian’s poetry.

The director of the Educational Department, Eugenia Markosyan, congratulated everyone on Palm Sunday and invited one-day school teacher and students on stage.

Vahan Terian’s touching poetry made the audience feel the ecstasy of love, pain of separation, hardships of the homeland, horrifying days of the Genocide and past full of despair and grief.

Young Armenian students, who barely spoke their mother tongue two years ago, now were excited to present Vahan Terian’s biography and poetry with beautiful recitation; episodes of his life, splendid and touching poems and sayings of the very greats about our lyric poet.

The contribution of Roza Zohrabyan was invaluable. Speakers Anahit Bostanjyan, Mikael Tadevosov, Melania Barseghyan, Samvel Aghekyan and Levon Osipov mentioned that Roza Zohrabyan succeeded in combining the mother tongue lesson, patriotism, past losses and the memory of the Armenian Genocide victims. She underlined the mission of the Armenian people to enrich the culture and perpetuate Armenian Genocide innocent victims’’ memory.

The Primate of the Armenian Diocese highly appreciated the teacher’s dedication to Armenian education and complimented students for studying Armenian. “Only by preserving the language, remaining faithful, keeping the memory of your ancestors alive, preserving national values and contributing to prosperity of our homeland the Armenian people is able to succeed”, His Grace mentioned.

Vahan Terian’s poems turned into songs also were performed during the evening.
