Directors of Armenian Teaching Schools Meet with the Primate of the Diocese PDF Print E-mail

On March 14, 2015 the Primate of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia, His Grace Bishop Vazgen Mirzakhanyan met in Tbilisi at Saint Etchmiadzin Church with the directors of public schools, where children are taught Armenian. The directors and heads of studies of the schools in Mirzoevka, Chanakhchi and Shahumian schools № 1 and 3, Bolnis-Khache and Kianeti in Bolnisi region, Samshvilde in Tetritskaro region and Tbilisi № 103 and 104 public schools attended the meeting. The director of the Department of Education of the diocese, Eugenia Markosyan, also attended the meeting.

The Primate of the diocese inquired about the number of students and asked whether the schools were provided with sufficient textbooks, materials and teachers qualified to teach the various subjects. Each director presented the established order of educational works in a specific school, spoke about the textbooks and educational program and gave thanks and appreciation to the Ministries of Education and Science of Georgia and Armenia and to the various resource centers.

The retraining courses, organized by the RA Ministry of Education and Science and RA Ministry of Diaspora play a key role in developing and improving educational works”, said the Primate of the Diocese, when concluding the meeting. He encouraged the directors to engage their teachers in above-mentioned retraining courses. His Grace also referred to the events dedicated to the victims of the Armenian Genocide to be held in the Motherland and abroad. He suggested organizing different inspirational events in their schools. His Grace expressed his readiness to always help to resolve various educational issues.
