Reporting Concert of Hayartun Center’s Creative Groups PDF Print E-mail

Creative groups (classes) gave their semi-annual reporting concert at Hayartun Center of the Armenian Diocese on December 25. The leader of the Diocese, the clergy, representatives of the RA Embassy in Georgia, employees of Hayartun Center, parents and guests have taken their seats in the crowed hall.

Levon Chidilyan (the head of Hayartun Educational-Cultural Center) was presenting the event. In his opening speech he refered to the preservation of Armenian culture among the Armenians of Georgia and mentioned the relevance of the transmission to the next generation of cultural heritage and also the importance of the generation change in creative groups.

The concert started by a cento, dedicated to the homeland, with the participation of the students from the recitation class under the direction of Samvel Elbakyan (class teacher, actor of Petros Adamian Tbilisi State Armenian Drama Theatre).

The members of “Nerses Shnorhali” youth ensemble presented Sayat-Nova, Komitas, Gusan Sheram works by solo performances and sang classic to modern, folklore and popular songs in Armenian and English.

Duduk class functioning only one year (teacher Ivane Mkrtchyan) and dhol class surprised the audience with their rhythmic, accurate and powerful performances.

Under the direction of honored teacher Maria Abulyan and thanks to Karen Mirzoyan’s (pianist) perfect work, “Nerses Shnorhali” ensemble, which is created at the same that Hayartun Center is, introduced a brand new program and new approach to their performances at the semi-annual reporting concert.

Hayartun Center has its own vocal-instrumental ensemble. It is created thanks to great love and devotion to music of several young members and to continual lessons of Vladimir Asaturov (musician). Former students of “Nerses Shnorhali” ensemble Ani Hovhannisyan and Mari Sahakyan, that are now solo performers of this vocal-instrumental ensemble, concluded the concert with their beautiful, bright and fascinating performances.

At the end, extending his blessing to the audience, the leader of the Armenian Diocese His Grace Bishop Vazgen Mirzakhanyan thanked the management of the center and all the teachers, who teach young Armenians singing, recitation, music, who pass their knowledge and love to the pieces of art, to Armenian and other cultures.

His Grace expressed his gratitude to the ministries of Diaspora, Culture, Education and Science, Sport and Youth Affairs, Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation and to all benefactors for their support intended to keep young Armenians living abroad closer to their culture and give them Armenian education.

His Grace Bishop Vazgen congratulated everyone on coming Christmas and New Year and invited them to participate in the ceremonies of Christmas celebration and consecration of water, as well as “Gata festival” on January 5-6.
