The team of young footballers of Tbilisi N84 School won the “Hayartun” cup PDF Print E-mail

Hayartun cup 

A football tournament for “Hayartun” cup was held between the schools of the capital. The tournament was the initiative of the Youth Department of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia (director Valeri Badalyan) and supported by the Armenian Diocese in Georgia. Teams of young footballers from 9th to 11th grades of Tbilisi public schools number 81, 84, 92, 96, 8 and 104 had made an application to take part in the competition.

Thanks to the proper organizational work of the Youth Department of the Diocese, the tournament was launched on November 21. It was held in the open air stadium of school number 104. Three matches took place on the first day. After a persistent and hot competition the youth teams of schools number 96 and 84 managed to overcome the obstacle of playing in the final.  
The final match of the tournament was held on November 29. The desire to win the match and the cup was so huge that even the unfavorable weather did not prevent from holding the game. The schools number 84 (director - Manana Batikadze, sport teacher - Kakha Nikoladze) and 96 (director Susanna Shoshiashvili, sport teacher – Nana Tjeishvili) were there to compete for the cup. After an uncompromising and hot competition, supported by cheerful football fans, the match ended with 3:1. The school number 84 won the game and was honored with “Hayartun” cup.   
The leader of the “Hayartun” center of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia solemnly passed the “Hayartun” cup to Tenguiz Antadze – the captain of the young footballers’ team of Tbilisi school number 84. All the participants of the match received certificates of participation in “Hayartun” cup tournament. All the matches of the tournament were run by Seyran Pozoyan, a judge certified by the International Federation of Football Association (FIFA).   
The Youth Department of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia thanks the Primate of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia,  Mikayel Arabajyan (a dedicated person to church), as well as the administration of Tbilisi public school number 104 for the support provided in the organization of the football tournament and the competition for “Hayartun” cup. The tournament committee informs that the “Hayartun” cup competition among young people will be continuous, once in a year, and calls on youth football teams to be actively involved in the competitions of this sport, scheduled for 2015.
