The presentation of the film “Winter Apple” by Armen Ronov at “Hayartun” center PDF Print E-mail

On November 23, 2014 within the framework of “Sunday Movies”, Galust Gyulbenkyan hall of the “Hayartun” center at the Armenian Diocese in Georgia hosted the presentation of the film “Winter Apple” by the famous film director and animator Armen Ronov.

Before the film would be screened, the director of the film, who was present at the presentation, thanked for the chance to show his film to the Armenian audience in Tbilisi. He stated that among all his works he gave a special importance to the film “Winter Apple” based on Khachatur Abovyan’s novel “The wounds of Armenia”. The film was introduced in Cannes festival and it is an introduction of a unity of a new genre in film industry - animation, documentary and reality, as well as artistic performance.  

After the film a dialogue and discussion took place between the audience and the film director. The audience estimated the ideological basis of the film, that is the image of the Armenian people, who is persecuted from different sides, but continues living, building, creating and reproducing, and although its baby is still sleeping, the day will come and he will wake up. The Armenian people is the winter apple, for forever is the nation which is capable of building new churches on the fallen ones and again perform psalms, pray in its spiritual houses.      

Though the audience made some comments, they underlined the ideological content and the high quality shooting.

The director of Culture Department of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia, the leader of the “Hayartun” center Levon Chidilyan thanked the film director for arriving in Tbilisi specially for taking part in the presentation, for serving the movie industry and the Armenian people with his art. Levon Chidilyan presented him with picture album “From Hakob Hovnatanyan till Gayane Khachatryan”, devoted to the Armenian painting school in Tbilisi.
