The Armenian Diocese in Georgia joined the protest “#2015RTAG. Recognize The Armenian Genocide” PDF Print E-mail

On November 9, 2014 the protest with the motto “We exist and will continue our existence”, organized by “Hayartun” Center (Director Levon Chidilyan) and the Youth Department of the Diocese (Director Valeri Badalyan), followed the Sunday Divine Liturgy in the neighborhood of Tbilisi St. Echmiadzin church. Reacting the initiative of Marseille city on the Armenian Genocide in the eve of the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, the Armenian Diocese in Georgia joined the protest “#2015RTAG. Recognize The Armenian Genocide”. The protest was headed by Ani Stepanova and Richard Fndikyan.

“Taron” youth dance group members from “Ani” and “Hayartun” centers performed the flash mob in white, dancing the Armenian traditional “Kochari” and challenging the civilized society to “Recognize the Armenian Genocide” with their rebelling movements. Angelina Nazaryan-Kocharyan was the organizer and the artistic director of the flash mob.

His Grace Bishop Vazgen Mirzakhanyan, the writer and translator Guivi Shahnazar, public figure Samvel Aghekyan, the clergy, ordinary people, a big crowd attended the flash mob. Member of RA National Assembly Tajat Vardapetyan and the head of the Division of Relations with Armenian communities of the Caucasus Region at the Ministry of Diaspora of RA Taron Shagoyan joined the protest a bit later. After the rebelling and wrathful dance, flyers reading “#2015RTAG. Recognize The Armenian Genocide” were handed out. With the right of a claimant the Armenian Diocese in Georgia addressed to the civilized society to recognize the Armenian Genocide, thus joined the pan Armenian protest.
